Easy Fathers Day Crafts for Children

Looking for Fathers Day gifts to make at home? Here's an oldie but goodie I dug out of the family archives. It is such an easy Fathers day craft for children to make and so fun to give Dad or Grandpa or your favorite Uncle! What do you need? A favorite photo, a piece of cardstock and an old hotel room keycard or used gift card. So let's get started with this special fathers day gift idea!

Find a used gift card or hotel room keycard ... see the photo below. Then go through your photos and let the kids pick a favorite. It could be of them individually, as a group, or with the person who will receive the gift. Look at the size of the photo and make sure it will fit on the card. Make a color copy on either photo paper or card stock and cut to fit the card. Then gluestick it right onto the card. Trace the card onto a piece of cardstock and then let the kids write a note and decorate. Glue it onto the other side of the card. Laminate and you are done with this Fathers Day gift to make at home! It is one of our favorite father's day gifts to make and one of Dad's favorites to get. It will fit right in his wallet so it travels wherever he goes! Here's one the kids made over 20 years ago.. the front of one card and the back of another!

Once the card is done, have the kids make coupons to accompany it. Let them each pick something they can do either for or with Dad or Grandpa. Some from our archives included a car wash, a trip to the mini golf course, breakfast in bed, a hike or a picnic at the park. Let them think about some of Dad's favorite things they like to do together, or a chore that they can help with! There were none of these cool things when our kids were little... they made them on their own which is great too.

These Father's Day gifts to make Dad smile are extra special!! And it is a great gift idea for Grandpa or anyone special they want to remember on Fathers Day! Don't forget to laminate the finished project so that they will last for years.. as ours have! It would be a great fathers day craft for your Brownie or Cub Scout meetings also.
