For our oldest son's graduation party, he wanted a grads and dads golf outing. We organized it like we did for my husband's 40th birthday party. The participants paid in advance for their own green fees and we coordinated with the golf course. Then all came back to our home for a graduation/awards ceremony BBQ. It was great fun! To serve as both decorations and favors, I made personalized water bottles and they were a huge hit.

First I unpeeled the label on one water bottle. Using that measurement, I went on the computer and designed a label. I bought the bright colored sheets of adhesive paper that they sell in the label section of the office supply stores. I also bought laminating sheets. Once my design was done, I printed multiple labels on a sheet, let the ink dry and then applied the laminating sheet. This would prevent the ink from running as condensation formed on the water bottle. Here's the label I made.. combined the golf outing theme with the graduation theme!
Once the label is made, this project is simple to finish. Strip off the original water bottle labels. Cut the labels apart. Peel off the adhesive backing on the labels and apply around the water bottles.
Here's a label I just created for my girlfriend's graduation party. An easy and cheaper way to make these is to print on plain paper and cover with a strip of packing tape. You won't be able to throw them in the cooler, but can cool them in the fridge and put them out on the table.

Here is a free printable sheet of these labels.. print, peel and press around the water bottles!
Could these clever graduation party decorations be any easier to make? There are lots of options for the labels.. add the school mascot, logo, photos of the grads..let your creativity go to work! We set up a "clubhouse" stand where the guys were grilling and had the bottles decorating the snack stand.. it was too funny! If you are combining your grad party with a 4th of July celebration..here are some free printable patriotic themed water bottle labels! We even made them for our daughter's wedding to add into the wedding gift bags for out of town guests.
