This is an easy and fun graduation party idea.. make personalized graduation party decorations with an "Over The Rainbow" theme and then let the guests take them home as their favors. Why spend a lot of money on store bought graduation decorations when you can make them yourself using this simple idea. Celebrate all the places the graduate guests will be moving on to after high school. It could a college, a job, a year of volunteer service.. where ever it is they are going..let's congratulate them! This one is perfect for kindergarten graduations too! See how you can use this idea for both!
I found these wooden painted rainbows at our local craft store. In the craft stores they usually sell these pre-painted wooden shapes in the Wood Crafts section of the store. You'll want to have one for each fellow graduate that will be coming to your graduation party. Once you have them, you use a paint pen and write "ever after" on the cloud section. Then on the rainbow section, write where each of the graduates are headed next year. Add the card and tape the rainbow onto the bottom of it. Perfect for a kindergarten graduation celebration too - See how we did it for both!!
Here's a bigger view of the poem we made up that served as the tag for a high school graduation party. For our own party, we actually put the grad's name on the card so that everyone could easily find their own. We hung them up all around the dining room where we were serving the food. Everyone was looking at them all and talking about where the kids were headed after summer. So these cute graduation crafts ended up serving as decorations, favors and conversation starters! Both the kids and the parents loved this graduation party idea and the kids each took theirs home! It couldn't be any easier or cheaper and it doesn't require any craft skills.. just a paint pen and a computer! If you can't find the wooden rainbows, stars would work or make them on card stock with rainbow clip art. Feel free to use my poem, you can download and print here. For a funnier idea, get all the moms together and make them. Then on the night before graduation, "ring and run" the kids leaving these on their front doors!

For the kindergarten crew, use this free coloring page and let them color in in themselves, then add their names, the "ever after" tagline in the cloud and attach the printable poem.
