This is a great Halloween Craft Idea for all age groups. What is ghosting you ask? It is sending a Halloween wish that passes from one person to another! Think of how a ghost floats invisibly from one place to another. You make a card, goody bag or in our case, a Ghost or Halloween decoration. Personalize it and add a note. Then hang it anonymously on a friend's door.. ring and run! The note can simply say, "Happy Halloween, you've been ghosted... Pass It On". The recipient than hopefully makes their own "ghosting decoration" and the spirit begins to spread! It is great fun for the little ones. It makes for an easy Scout meeting project. However, from experience I will tell you, it works for all ages. You are never too old to Celebrate Halloween!
Here's an adorable wood ghost I found at the craft store..on sale 3 for $1.00. Personalize with a paint pen and add a note! Then ring and run!
I sent a box of these decorations to my daughter and her roommate at college in a Halloween
care package.
I wrote the poem above and attached it on card stock to the decorations. She and college roommate then "ghosted" their friends in the dorm.. who in turn made their own ghosts and passed them on to others. The RA told me it was funniest thing he had ever seen. By Halloween almost every dorm door had been "ghosted". Who would have thought college girls could have that much fun with this fun Halloween craft idea!
This is a great project that is easy to do, inexpensive and creates a lot of buzz. If you can't find the wooden decorations, make a card on the computer using clip art, or make a small Halloween goody bag and attach the note. It's guaranteed to bring some smiles!
