Save the Date wedding cards are very popular these days. They are especially important if you are having a destination wedding. Since our daughter was being married in Chicago, she wanted to get the save the date cards out early so that guests could make plans. We looked high and low and finally found the perfect Save The Date announcement cards with a great sketch of the Chicago skyline! They couldn't have been more perfect. One tip to keep in mind when planning who to send "Save the Date" cards to. Send ONLY to those guests you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY know will be on your final guest list. Things sometimes change and you don't want to send one and then not invite that person. This is SO IMPORTANT!

Here's where we ordered these adorable cards!

Her sister, who is her maid of honor, then decided to gather all the Chicago based bridal party for a "Save the Date" cocktail party. You know I had to fly in for the weekend. I wouldn't have missed it! Everyone brought a book of stamps, an appetizer and the drink of their choice. I volunteered to make the address labels once our bride sent me her list. We then proceeded to eat, drink, address, stuff and stamp the Save the Date wedding announcements. The out of town bridal party members who couldn't attend sent a beautiful floral arrangement to the hostess' home using all the flowers she will have in her wedding bouquet.

The party was a huge success and so much fun. One word of caution.. get the save the date cards done BEFORE you begin to eat, drink and be merry! We had to appoint a Quality Control manager to audit all the envelopes as stamps and labels were mysteriously found going on upside down!! You can only imagine all the laughing going on around that table.

So hats off to this thoughtful bridal party. We all had a great time and by the end of the night had all her Save The Date announcements ready to drop in the mail!
