Wedding Gift Bags for Out Of Town Guests
Welcome your out of town guests with these fun ideas for wedding gift bags
Wedding gift bags for out of town guests are a great way to welcome them! Here are some creative and simple ideas for making your own wedding gift bags that will be waiting for your guests as they check into the hotel for the wedding. Hotels are usually more than happy to distribute these upon check in for free. They may charge to put them in the rooms in advance of check in.
Our daughter's wedding was in Chicago and that made it a destination wedding for all our east coast friends and family. We decided to put together wedding welcome gift bags to be given to each guest at check-in. We were on a limited budget and we had over 50 hotel rooms booked for guests, so we had to be creative. Look at how cute our bags came out.. follow along and we'll tell you exactly how to make them!
We found these great fabric bags on line at bigpromotions.net. We have no affiliation with this company, other than a 5 star recommendation! They helped us design a simple logo for our bags. The total cost of our completed bags with all the goodies inside: $1.85 each and they couldn't have been cuter. We spotted our guests carrying them all weekend as they visited Chicago. What to put in your wedding gift bags for out of town guests? We put in some snacks, gum, bottled water and most importantly, an information sheet giving the guests the itinerary for wedding day as well as fun things to do in Chicago. Those were so appreciated by our guests as it gave them all the pertinent information on the church, reception venue and how to get there!

We made a welcome note to attach to the bags and printed both these and the information sheet on card stock. Simply added some ribbon to attach the welcome note and added colored tissue paper to each wedding welcome gift bag. Since we also had to travel for the wedding, we assembled them in the hotel room! Here we are labeling the water bottles described below.

We decorated bottled water by making labels on the computer. These were a big hit as hotels charge a fortune for a bottle of water! We bought cases of water, took a label off one of the bottles so we knew how big the label needed to be. Next, we took the logo that Rich @ big promotions.net designed then added our couple's names and printed on single page labels. We cut them apart and then put our labels over the existing label on each water bottle! Then added a couple of bottled waters to each gift bag. It couldn't have been easier!
Here is what the label looked like after printing.. just cut them apart
Look at this cute addition to the gift bags.. if you can make an address label you can make these. Theme it to the location of the wedding or just as we did for the bride and groom. Here are the directions to make these easy and inexpensive favors.

These simple but thoughtful wedding gift bags for out of town guests were so appreciated by one and all. The idea of having all the information for wedding day at their fingertips turned out to be the favorite item in the bag!
