Celebrating A Company Anniversary

Saw this and made me think of Oscar night tonight .. do a red carpet and give out company oscars.. maybe you can think of a name for them related to your company's name... give out for longest tenure with the company, best supporting player, someone who is behind the scenes, most innovative employee, most charitable employee you get the idea.. then hang stars up around the room and decorate like a hollywood celebration.. there were some fun ideas in this site in the Oscar party article.

Put together a display of the company history.. old ads, photos, ledgers etc. Be sure to invite retirees.. maybe choose one to speak.. also point out the good things the company has done over the years and highlight special products or services that the company introduced. Maybe have a contest where employees submit new ideas and the bosses pick the best one and implement it and award a prize to that employee. Get everyone excited for the event with lots of internal publicity and emails.

If there is a local event, like a 5K or walkathon or charity fundraiser upcoming, organize your employees to join in and do it on behalf of the company. Make tshirts so they could walk as a team and those don't want or are not able to participate could donate as sponsors. Publicize your efforts in the local paper.. or adopt a local school and see if there is anything they need.. ie: school supplies and run a collection. You could do the typical cake/reception.. get door prizes that each guest would get a ticket for, then pick the tickets throughout the reception.
