As graduation loomed over the University of Michigan campus, I hit on a great college
graduation party idea. I had listened to my son and his friends lament about the best
four years of his life coming to end. I began
teasing them all that they were living in "Never Never Land". They
absolutely did not want to leave Ann Arbor. From this came the the perfect theme for their graduation party.. Peter Pan, as these guys really didn't want to grow up!
Before this group scattered, we all decided that a graduation party right on campus in their home for the past year affectionately known as the "Pink and Purple", would be the perfect celebration. So from "The Big House" graduation ceremony all the families headed back to the house. The 12 boys had ordered food and had the house cleaned.. so we arrived and were all ready to celebrate. I had made a poster to commemorate the great 4 years they had at Michigan and their absolute lack of desire to move on and grow up!
With a little help from a photo editing program and some good old fashioned rhyming I made this poster for their college graduation party that became a mini history or their four years together. Next, using just the graphic from the poem, I turned this into special personalized t-shirts for each of the graduates. A few them immediately threw on their bright yellow "I don't want to grow up" t-shirts with the logo from the poem above! See how to make personalized tshirts for any occasion here!
Of course, we had favors!! Personalized photo mugs adorned with a collage of photos from their days together in Ann Arbor! These are so easy to make yourself with all their photos. Just check their Facebook page or ask them to email you their favorites right from their phone. These mugs make such a great and lasting gift. The kids and the parents all loved them.
