|Here's a Mexican Theme party idea that was a great hit with all our guests. We were celebrating "Cinco De Mayo" but this party could be done anytime of the year. This party was all adults but had all the fixings of a kids party..party favors for each family and a couple of rounds of "Bandito Bingo". As all of our kids got older, our group of friends was not constantly connecting through the kids and their schedules. So I have tried to make a point to get us all together a couple of times a year. As April rolled around I started looking for a fun theme party idea for our next gathering. Since Cinco de Mayo was around the corner, I planned a Mexican fiesta and it couldn't have been more fun!|
Who doesn't love party favors, they add some fun and laughter to the gathering. So I decided on the "goody bag" contents. I found adorable red "Mardi Gras" type beads with cute chili peppers ornaments. I was also planning a game and needed prizes. I ended up with a sombrero, a flashing light-up "Fiesta lei" that was adorned with a huge chili pepper. There was even more, a set a marachis and decorated margarita mugs! I decided to make everyone "Cinco de Mayo" personalized t-shirts. . I also made everyone "Bottle Cap" Magnets for their fridge as a reminder of our Fiesta.
Fiesta mason jar mugs.. these are "Margarita"green and we just added tulle, a flowers, raffea and a tag so everyone could mark their name on it.. use it during the fiesta and bring it home!
I made all our guests these easy and fun Cinco de Mayo t-shirts.. so easy and inexpensive when you do it yourself. Here is a step by step tutorial to making personalized t-shirts! I made them for a college care package and documented how to do it!
What could be more fun for a Mexican theme party than "Bandito Bingo". Played liked regular Bingo, but with a spin. Instead of pre-printed Bingo Boards, I made my own. I also let everyone choose from a Bingo Pull list to make their own boards. We played three rounds. Round one was simple "five in a row" and the winner received lottery tickets. It was kind of a trial run. Round 2 winner was our "Pequeno Bandito". This game was 2 of the following: five across, down or horizontal in a row. I put pennies on plates around the tables to use as markers. You could also use Hershey's kisses or MnM's too! The winner received not only the title, but was decorated with some of the prizes I had bought. The final game was "cover the board" and our winner was crowned "Grande Bandito" with a big sombrero. The catch was once you got "Bingo", you must sing, "Aye, Yae, Yae, I am an awesome bandito!" Our group was perfect for this, but you could also just have the call out Bandito if they win! Yelling Bingo would get you disqualified! It became quite competitive and a ton of laughs.
Here is what the Bingo Board looked like and Here were the Bingo Pull cards I made. Everyone fills in their own Bingo card using these terms! It's funny how many of the same terms people used. If you choose a lesser known term, your chances of winning improve!

A fun time was had by all our Mexican theme party guests!
With your Mexican theme party idea being FIESTA, the food is the easiest to plan. Everyone offered to bring a dish so we had a feast of Mexican food. There were tacos, fajitas, chalupas, dip and chips, Mexican rice, guacamole, and of course a menagerie of delicious desserts. We did Margaritas, Coronas (don't forget the limes) and soft drinks for beverages. It could not have been easier!
This Mexican theme party idea really turned out great. There was a lot of laughs and the game really made the night...everyone wanted to be the Grande Bandito!
