September is such a nice month.. why don't you tie in the autumn theme.. have pretty fall wreaths on the table and put glass lanterns with candles in the center. Use fall colored table clothes on the table too. Bring an ipod with speakers and have the kid put together a play list of their favorites, so you can add some music. Have baskets of apples and pumpkins around the area. Get some of those brown paper gift bags, fill them with fall colored tissue paper and label them with the bride and groom's name, then give them out at the end of the dinner and let the guests go apple and pumpkin picking from the baskets and take some home at the end of the dinner. Good luck

There is a "how" to do article in this site to make really cute photo mugs.. you could make them with pictures of the couple from baby to now.. and I think they are plastic so you can use them outdoors without them breaking.. It is under the creative section right here. I am going to make them for our daughter's Bas Mitzvah.

What will you do if it rains? Is there a back up plan like moving it somewhere indoors? Think you need to plan for that just in case. In addition to burgers and dogs, I would also pre-make some kabobs.. using chicken and beef and all veggies.. they are easy to eat and grill and would add some color to your food selections.

I bet it would be fun and very relaxing.. what time of day are you planning it for? Is there a gazebo or sheltered area? You could decorate it with tulle and put in some artificial flowers. Add some pretty bows too. Tulle is easy to work with and very inexpensive and looks so pretty. If it's at night, you could line the area with bags filled with sand and a candle. I have seen that at Christmas time. Also add white lights around the area.
